Krügerrand 1 oz diverse Jahrgänge
1 oz · 31.1 g · 916
The Krugerrand is the world’s best-known gold bullion coin and one of the most famous coins in the world. It has been issued by the South African Mint in Pretoria since 1967. Its mintage peaked between 1974 and 1984, when up to six million coins were struck in a single year.
The coin’s design has remained unchanged since 1967. The obverse features Paul Kruger, the president after whom the coin is named. The reverse depicts the South African springbok.
The gold alloy has a fineness of 916.7 parts per thousand, with copper added to make the coin more scratch-resistant and give it a slightly reddish hue.
