Philharmoniker 1 oz diverse Jahrgänge
1 oz · 31.1 g · 999
The Vienna Philharmonic has been struck by Münze Österreich AG since October 1989. It is named in honour of the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. When the euro was introduced in 2002, the coin’s face value was changed from schillings to euros.
The gold coin was initially available in 1 oz and 1/4 oz sizes. The 1/10 oz and 1/2 oz sizes were introduced later. Mintage figures vary from year to year. The 1 oz Philharmonic reached its highest mintage in 2009, when 835,700 coins were issued.
With a fineness of 999.9 parts per thousand, the coin is struck in fine gold. Its design has remained unchanged since 1989, apart from the year of issue. One side features a selection of the orchestra’s instruments; the other shows the famous organ in the Golden Hall.
Beloved by investors and collectors since its launch, the Vienna Philharmonic has become a classic among gold bullion coins.
